 Manage ~/.agents so skills follow the machines, and keep knowledge in git. 
npx-managed skills stay copies so an installer update cannot land in the repo by accident; knowledge is a symlink outside home/ so maintain writes are tracked instead of dying on the next apply. Verified the live ~/.agents/knowledge link and that the lockfile is named dot_skill-lock.json so chezmoi does not ignore it.

Domain routing

Choose one domain and use its _template.md:

Domain Use for Filename example
cli Executable command-line tools kubectl.md
libraries Imported packages, frameworks, and SDKs react.md
apis Network services and API contracts stripe.md
workflows Repeatable multi-step operating procedures release.md
concepts Durable models, standards, and terminology oauth.md

Prefer the subject's canonical lowercase name. Use hyphens for spaces. Keep one primary subject per file and link related entries rather than duplicating them.

Create a new domain only when none fits and the subject type needs a meaningfully different template. Add <domain>/_template.md, then add one row here. Do not create another skill merely to add a domain.
